Kim’s back again with another thrifty tip for railway modelling. This guy is a real goldmine for inspiration when it comes to making stuff from things you’d normally through away.
“Hey Justin, Here is a way to make realistic looking guide rail’s / barriers for highways & motorways. They’re made from plastic mushroom punnets/baskets you throw away. Simply cut round the top rim with a pair of scissors or sharp craft knife.
Add the wood posts (matchsticks will do just fine). Glue with instant glue then paint them with silver crafter’s acrylic paint & weather if required with weathering powders. They make great looking barriers for roads and carparks. They even have that rib down the centre for even better realism. Cut just off that bump you see for the most realistic look possible, and they even hav the curve at the end.”
Fantastic work yet again Kim! Anyone else created anything from old food containers?
