In this weeks how-to feature we’re taking a look at how to make realistic trees for your model railway layout or diorama. It doesn’t matter what scale you’re modelling in, oo scale, n scale etc, or what period your layout is set in, unless you’re modelling the most industrial of locations, you’re likely to need a few trees to bring your layout to life.
There are lots of proprietary trees on the market from the likes of Noch, Gaugemaster, Faller and indeed Hornby, but they’re often very expensive, especially if you need a lot of them. These two videos walk you through a couple of very effective methods for making your own very realistic trees, and neither should hopefully break the bank.
Thanks to Scotto Mason of Scenix Express and the Glebe Road Junction channel on Youtube for these excellent videos.
